- - Julep | Golden Ticket Mystery Box - -

*Please note that you don't need to have a Julep subscription to be able to purchase mystery boxes.*

Hi friends!

Have you ever read or watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Remember how there were golden tickets to be found in chocolate bars? Well Julep is playing with a similar idea for their latest batch of mystery boxes.

For $24.99 (US) you are able to get a box with $100+ worth of unknown Julep goodies (nail polish and beauty products) AND have a chance at drawing a golden ticket that unlocks the prestige of having a nail polish named after you.

There are three boxes to choose from and there is a total of three golden tickets to be found.

Compared to the mystery boxes of the past few months, I'm actually pretty excited about these mystery boxes. Read further to find out why...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have three mystery boxes to choose from again and right now they are differentiated only by their numbers.

Who knows what's inside?

There are a total of three 'golden tickets' to be found in each of the variations (one ticket is somewhere in a #1, #2, and #3 box).

The promised retail value of each of the boxes is over $100.

WAIT. I know what you're thinking - "I'm not falling for this one. It'll be old stock again." In some ways you might actually be right. BUT what intrigues me about these boxes is this promise on Julep's facebook page:

"Not only is there no overlap between box versions, all nail polish and beauty products featured in the Golden Ticket Mystery Boxes are NEW to mystery boxes this year!"

So, Julep is finally hearing the call for new products in their mystery boxes - that's great! Though, what slightly throws me off is that they say "new to mystery boxes THIS YEAR." Looking back at the Naughty and Nice Mystery Box from December - which, don't get me wrong, was amazing - I see that old stock was included (I mean, there IS America in that box). While I don't think that we'll see America any time soon, I do think that the wording is open to interpretation.

There are also two mystery add-ons this time around:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I honestly didn't expect another mystery box so soon. If you think about it though, there have been mystery boxes every month since February, so I guess it's not that unusual.

I think this golden ticket idea is pretty neat. Julep usually places a pair of diamond earrings in someone's box, so I think it's great that there are now three chances to get something special.

I didn't order a Speckled Mystery Box last month, which means that I'm going to let myself get this one. I chose mystery box #3 after my favourite number. I tried out promotion codes and none of them seem to work directly on the mystery boxes; however, there are still the codes MOM20 (get $20 off a $50 purchase), PERK10 (get $10 off), and PERK30 (get 30% off) floating around, so you could try experimenting with them. Even if you don't pay less for the mystery box, you might be able to get an extra item for free or for cheaper. For example, I got a free Konjac Cleansing Sponge with my mystery box after using the code PERK10.

I doubt that I'll find a golden ticket from purchasing one box. At the very least, even Charlie had to purchase three chocolate bars before drawing a golden ticket (sorry about the spoiler). It's still fun to try though!

Will you be purchasing this mystery box? If you do, don't forget to use Ebates to get 1.50% cash back on your purchase!

Thanks for reading! -A.
