Hello again!

This time around I have a review of the Beauty Box 5 for January. This month, BB5 partnered up with the people behind That Awkward Moment to celebrate the beginning of a new year and also to promote the upcoming film. This is only my third BB5 box so far (find previous reviews here and here), so I'm not sure if BB5 has ever had a partnership like this, but I think it was successful and this may very well be my favourite box so far. Hello everyone!

With all of the December subscriptions out of the way, I am officially ready to start a fresh batch of 2014 reviews! The first box to arrive this month was from Julep. Julep consistently ships out their boxes on the 27th, so this is usually the first subscription to arrive each month. 

The January assortment of nail polishes and beauty products was called, The Boudoir Collection: fancy finishes & top-drawer products. Fancy, indeed! In a surprising twist of fate, I decided that instead of gravitating towards my go-to style, Classic With a Twist, this month I was going to go with my first ever Modern Beauty box. Happy Thursday everyone! (Three reviews in a row? This is a personal best!)

Today I have a really special subscription box to review. As you can see from the photos above, this box has nothing to do with makeup or nail polishes or even beauty products; in fact, it's quite the opposite. Early on in December, I was trying to figure out what kind of Christmas gift to get for me boyfriend (Andrew), who year after year has stated that he does not want anything at all. Just like every year he has said this, I have decided to get him a gift after all. 

I'm not really sure how I stumbled upon this idea, but I decided to look into subscription boxes for men. One of the ones I came across was Manpacks, which is a great seasonal service for essentials like razors and boxers. Another subscription service was the Mystery Tackle Box, whose advertisements are always hilarious, and which provides mystery top-notch fishing lures and tackles every month to the fisherman (or fisherwoman!) in your life.

Happy Tuesday & Merry Christmas to everyone celebrating the Orthodox Christmas!

Today I have for you the review of the Beauty Box 5 December 2013 box. This is the second month of my BB5 subscription and I have to say that this box was definitely a lot better than the one I received in November. Unlike the November box, the products this month were a lot more useful to me (sans maybe the NYX eyeshadow palette). My only issue with this box is that it felt like it took forever to reach me; this was the last subscription box that I received in December. - - Welcoming in 2014 - -

Hi everyone! Happy New Year!

I hope you have all had a lovely Christmas and a joyful New Year's eve. I just want to take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful year full of adventure, love, success, happiness - - and quite possibly subscription boxes!

I am definitely looking forward to this year. The past few years haven't been the most successful for me in a few aspects of my life, but I am hopeful that 2014 will bring a change to that. I have always found the turn of a new year refreshing in the sense that you are able to gain a fresh start no matter what situation you are in. I think what's important to remember there is that a fresh start can be found in more places than solely on a January 1st. I forget this sometimes.

This year I decided to not write down my New Year's resolutions because (like most people) I seem to break them as the year goes by. So to not be completely overtaken by guilt, I am keeping my resolutions to myself and having them act as a general guide to the direction that I want to go in this year and, presumably, for the rest of my life. We will see how this goes.

I am really excited to start this year because although I began writing this blog in October, this will be the first full year of subscriptions that I and my blog will experience (provided that nothing changes). I am certainly looking forward to experimenting with different kinds of products this year and also experimenting with a new kind of medium (keep your eyes peeled for a video review sometime soon!). In addition to this, I have a new subscription box to share with you that is unlike the boxes I have been reviewing thus far.

Anyways, I hope you all have a lovely year and I look forward to seeing you in the coming posts!
