After seeing numerous reviews about this month's Beauty Box 5 products, I finally received my own box a couple days ago! Many of the boxes that I had seen reviewed online had a lot of the same products, so I figured that there would probably not be any surprises for me. It turns out that there were surprises in this month's box - both good and bad surprises.

It turns out that February marks the second anniversary of Beauty Box 5, a subscription service that offers 4-5 beauty product samples every month for its subscribers. This time around I have a review of the Beauty Box 5 for January. This month, BB5 partnered up with the people behind That Awkward Moment to celebrate the beginning of a new year and also to promote the upcoming film. This is only my third BB5 box so far (find previous reviews here and here), so I'm not sure if BB5 has ever had a partnership like this, but I think it was successful and this may very well be my favourite box so far. Today I have for you the review of the Beauty Box 5 December 2013 box. This is the second month of my BB5 subscription and I have to say that this box was definitely a lot better than the one I received in November. Unlike the November box, the products this month were a lot more useful to me (sans maybe the NYX eyeshadow palette). My only issue with this box is that it felt like it took forever to reach me; this was the last subscription box that I received in December. A few weeks ago I decided to give Beauty Box 5 a try. What appealed to me about Beauty Box 5 was that:
A) There was no waitlist (unlike Topbox & Ipsy -- I got off the waitlist of Ipsy last week!), and
B) It's fairly cheap.
Basic Info
Frequency: monthly
Subscription Plans: Pay monthly = $12; 3-months = $10/month; Annual = $8.25/month
Products: 4-5 beauty products
I signed up for Beauty Box 5 before I was familiar with other subscription boxes such as Saffron Rouge & Luxe Box. However, I received Beauty Box 5 AFTER both of those boxes. As always, it's really exciting to receive a package with a few misterious goodies, but I honestly can't say that I was blown away by the products.
