- - The Face Shop | Dr. Belmeur Lip Balm Duo Set Review - -

Happy Monday!

If you know me in person or if you've been reading this blog for a while, you might know that one of my favourite brands is The Face Shop. The Face Shop is owned by LG, so over the past few years you may have noticed that TFS started carrying a variety of sister brands in their stores (e.g. Fruits & Passion, Belif, VDL, and even Avon recently) in addition to The Face Shop products.

To have a name that better encompasses all these brands, The Face Shop (in the past two years or so) started changing the name of its stores over to Nature Collection. The reason I mention all of this is to try to clear up some confusion. If you ever see Nature Collection anywhere, know that it means The Face Shop (and vice versa). Hopefully this doesn't make you more confused, but please ask questions if it does! 😁

- - ColourPop | "Liquid Courage" Crème Lux Lipstick: Review & Swatches - -

Hello! I hope the first month of 2020 is treating you well!

Following in the footsteps of my last post (it's been a while, I know) about ColourPop's Disney Designer Collection, I want to take a look at another one of ColourPop's products - their Crème Lux Lipstick.

- - ColourPop | Disney Designer Collection Review - -

A little while ago, the stars aligned - not only was ColourPop's Disney Designer Collection back in stock, but there was also free international shipping with no minimum! ⭐

The Disney Collection launched at the end of September 2018 and it sold out several times before I finally got the chance to pick up a few items. Lucky for you readers - as I write this post - the Disney Designer Collection is fully stocked and still available! The collection features the following Disney princess-inspired cosmetics:
      • An eyeshadow palette
      • 6 lipsticks
      • 6 eyeshadows
      • 3 lip glosses
      • 2 highlighters
Although the entire collection is beautiful, what really caught my eye were three eyeshadows and one lip gloss - all of which I was able to pick up when the collection was back in stock. It's these four items that I'm going to take a closer look at right now...

- - Colour Pop | (4) Ultra Matte Lips & (1) Ultra Satin Lips Review - -

A few months ago one of my co-workers came to work really excited! You see, the evening before she was at a restaurant, and there was a woman there who was wearing a red lipstick which didn't budge AT ALL throughout her meal. It turned out that the woman had on one of Colour Pop's Ultra Matte Lips (super pigmented, long-lasting lip gloss).

I had never heard of Colour Pop before and I was intrigued by a lip product that could truly last through a meal, so I decided to order a few lip glosses. The prices are very good ($6.00 USD), but there are sooo many shades that it's a bit overwhelming!

After going back and forth, the shades I ended up getting were: 4 Ultra Matte Lips (Lumière 2, Avenue, Dr. M, and Bumble) and 1 Ultra Satin Lip (London Fog). In this post I'm going to briefly show you each of them:

- - THEFACESHOP | Ink Lipquid [Moisture] Swatches & Review - -

Happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to very quickly share with you the swatches of the newest Ink Lipquids from THEFACESHOP that I mentioned in my previous post. The photos didn't come out as well as I hoped they would, so I apologize for that.

One the bright side - I had my friend Sallie help me with swatches this time around, so you can see what the colours are like on a slightly different skintone than mine. :)

I'll show you everything after the jump...

- - THEFACESHOP | Melting Color Lip Creamer Swatches - -

Happy Sunday! :)

Today I wanted to show you guys one of the newest products from THEFACESHOP - the melting color lip creamers!

These lippies are basically a moisturizing lip tint. They are kind of like the Lip Tint Sticks, but they differ in that the colours are way bolder and brighter. Moreover, the longevity of the lip creamers is waaay better than the lip tint sticks.

In this post I'm going to show you the swatches for all 8 shades of the lip creamers.

- - THEFACESHOP | Lip Tint Stick Review - -

Hey guys!

Definitely a shorter post today! A couple of weeks ago I got my package from the RoseRoseShop which included three Lip Tint Sticks from THEFACESHOP.

Now this isn't a new product - the original Lip Tint Stick was part of the "Lovely Me:Ex" line a while back but it is now discontinued. If you were a fan of the lip tint fret not because the product is back and the only thing that is different about it is the packaging. I'm not sure if the repackaged version will ever make its way into Canada, but you can definitely find these tints at THEFACESHOP locations in the US.

How did I hear about these tints? A co-worker of mine raves about this product all the time, so I decided to place an order and see if it was worth all the excitement.

- - Julep | Naughty & Nice Mystery Box 2014 Review - -

Hi friends!

Today is the fourth day that I'm stuck in bed with a fever. Sigh...it sucks being sick. On the bright side - I get more time than usual (even though a lot of my time is filled with sleeping and watching Family Guy) to work on more content for my blog.

For today's post I wanted to share with you the 2014 Naughty & Nice Mystery Box from Julep. This mystery box cost $24.99 and promised to contain goodies valued at over $150+. In 2013 (just like with the Diamond Mystery Box) Julep also had a Naughty & Nice Mystery Box. I wonder if there will be a Diamond Mystery Box and a Naughty & Nice Mystery Box in 2015 as well?

Let's take a closer look at the 2014 Naughty & Nice Mystery Box right after the jump!

- - Julep | Diamond Mystery Box 2014 Review - -

Hi everyone!

I have barely left my bed in the last 24 hours because of a fever, but this morning I'm actually feeling well enough to edit a few pictures and compose this post for you guys. As promised a couple of times now, I finally have a review for the Julep Diamond Mystery Box!

This box, which Julep promised to contain a $150+ value, came out in November of 2014 and it cost $24.99 US. What's interesting is that Julep had a Diamond Mystery Box in 2013 as well, the review for which you can check out here

Let's see how the 2014 version compared...

- - Birchbox | "Decked Out" | December 2014 Review - -

How is this for exciting news on a Sunday - Birchbox now ships to Canada! The coveted US subscription box announced the news back in November that they were coming to Canada. I was so excited that I jumped at the opportunity to sign up and today, finally, I have a review of Birchbox's first box in Canada for you.

Since this is the very first ever Birchbox post on my blog, this post will be lengthy and photo-heavy (so in other words - like usual! haha).

More details about Birchbox after the jump!

- - Memebox | Special #52: Wonderful Treasure Finds (WTF) Review - -

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.
Hello, Hello!

I've gotten a few Memeboxes since my last Memebox (pronounced as "Me-me-box") review, but it's only now that I actually have the time to sit down for a few hours and tell you guys about one box I've been particularly excited about.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Memebox is an online Korean beauty retailer that in addition to carrying their own product line as well as ones from other brands, offers boxes curated around different themes. The great thing about these curated Memeboxes is that you get to discover a vast variety of Korean beauty products. After the shipping fee most boxes go for about $20-$30 (look at the end of this post for discount codes!).

It was in November that Memebox released their Special #52 box titled Wonderful Treasure Finds or WTF for short. The box cost $23.00 (US) with a shipping fee of $6.99. I used a $5 off coupon so my grand total was about $24.99.

- - Monthly Manicures | August 2014 - -

If there's one thing I've been faithful to this year on my blog it's definitely my Monthly Manicures series. Every month I put up a complete roundup of manicures that I have done during a given month. The purpose of this series isn't to show off some sort of talent that I have for nail art, but rather to talk about new polishes and techniques I get to try out.

Without further ado, let me show you what kinds of manicures I had in August!

- - Julep | The Art Walk Collection | September 2014 Review - -

Hello! Lovely to see you again :)

I have officially given up on trying to catch up with my reviews. It would've been nice to not have any gaps in my subscription box write ups, but worrying about being behind hasn't helped me one bit. Moving forward, as school has started up again last week I won't have as much time as I would like to for reviews, so I'm just going to take it one week at a time and see what kind of posts I can put up.

Today I have for you a review of the Julep Art Walk Collection for September 2014, which was a fantastic set of autumn colours that you can check out here.

After going back and forth on my selections I finally decided to go with the It Girl box, which I customized to include: Ryan, Mahima, and a Plush Pout Lip Crayon (feature product for September) in Magenta Plum. I also added on the Boho Glam box so that I could try the Almond Nude Plush Pout, Erin, and my favourite polish from the online swatches - Mary Lee.

Let's take a look at how everything worked out...

- - Beauty Box 5 | "Defining Moments" | July 2014 Review - -

Hello, hello!

Another day, another Beauty Box 5 review! I am almost caught up with everything. :) I don't believe that I saw any spoilers for the July box, so everything was a surprise for me. Let's take a look...

- - Monthly Manicures | July 2014 - -

Hi friends!

As you can see in the photo above, there was nothing too crazy about my manicures last month. In addition to trying out some new polishes, I did also get a chance to try out two base coats. Take a look at how everything worked out right after the jump...

- - Memebox | Special #23: Girls' Night Out Review - -

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

Happy Sunday!

I have been hearing and reading reviews about Memebox (pronounced as "mi-mi-box" / "me-me-box") for a while now, so when I was invited to join their affiliate program I decided that perhaps it was time to buy a box for myself to see what it was all about.

For those of you who aren't familiar with it, Memebox is an online Korean beauty retailer that sells several types of beauty boxes for a variety of prices. These boxes include: the original Memeboxes (global editions), themed boxes, Luckyboxes, Superboxes, and Collaboration boxes. I have yet to purchase a Global Edition Memebox, but those are kind of like a subscription that you have to purchase on an individual or pre-paid basis. They sell out pretty quickly and you usually have to purchase them months in advance (the latest Global Edition Memebox is #17 and it ships in November!).

In any case, I did purchase a couple of themed Memeboxes early on in the month. They were the Special #23: Girls' Night Out box and the Special #26: Hand & Nail Care box. I'm still waiting on the latter, but I do have the former to review for you today! There are also discount codes at the end of this post, so check those out if you get a chance.

- - Julep | The Poolside Collection | July 2014 Review - -

Hi everyone,

It's been way too long since my last Julep review! As always, I'm working on fixing that. Just before the July Maven collection was revealed I realized that there are usually spoilers a day or so before the Maven window opens, so for anyone who can't wait to check out the new colours each month definitely see if you can find something on Google in the days leading up to the Maven reveal.

For July's Poolside Collection there were a lot of really nice basic crèmes. I loved the colours and was pretty tempted to get the whole collection, but I decided to hold out and save my Jules. The two colours that were my favourite this month were Lissa and Kelsey, but unfortunately they were in different boxes. Since I wasn't willing to part with my Jules just yet, I gave up my original subscription of $19.99/mo and signed up for My Maven ($24.99/mo) just so that I could customize my box and pair those two colours together. Then, just before the August reveal I asked customer service to switch me over to the 3-month prepaid subscription so I could go back to paying $19.99/mo.

Finally, after waiting for what seemed like forever to get my box, it arrived at my doorstep! Let's take a closer look at what I got right after the jump...

- - Luxe Box | Summer 2014 Review | Anchors Away Upgrade - -

Hi everyone,

Just over a month ago I received my Summer 2014 Luxe Box by Loose Button. The only thing I don't like about this subscription is that you get a box once every season (once every 3 months), but there's always such anticipation in the air when it's the month of shipment!

Upgrades and add-ons become available roughly a month before Luxe Box starts shipping out its boxes. While I love the element of surprise and don't usually go for the upgrades because you know ahead of time what samples you will get, I did choose the Anchors Away upgrade this time around. The Achors Away upgrade cost $4.00 (CAD) and it guaranteed: a Nicole by OPI nail polish (I Shop Mintage), two glass beads by Joseph Nogucci, and a Teeez eyeliner, all in addition to 4-5 unknown products.

Let's take a closer look at all of the products this month after the jump...

- - Monthly Manicures | June 2014 - -

Hi everyone,

This month I didn't get to do as many manicures as I did last month, but that's mainly because I've been letting my nails breathe and recover. I've also been feeling lazy and uninspired, which greatly factors in as well. Nonetheless, I'm pretty happy with the few simple manis I did this month, and I'm anxious to share them with you.

Let's take a look...

- - Vegan Cuts Beauty Box | April 2014 Review - -

Happy Friday!

Today, as I'm slowly catching up with my reviews, I've decided to share with you my April Vegan Cuts Beauty Box. I actually don't subscribe to Vegan Cuts anymore and I'll explain why at the end of this post. In the meantime, let's check out the Vegan Cuts goodies!
