Hello, hello!
It turns out that February marks the second anniversary of Beauty Box 5, a subscription service that offers 4-5 beauty product samples every month for its subscribers. I actually didn't know that February was BB5's birthday. To be honest, if I didn't see the product/birthday card included with this month's box, I probably wouldn't have known for some time. For a full review of the February box, please read further...

Product card |
I'm
really loving that the product card was made in the form of a birthday
card - with full pictures of the products as well as the accompanying
information about each item inside.
I didn't see any spoilers (I actually had no idea there were any at all) before receiving my box, so all of the contents were a complete surprise to me.
*Prices are in US dollars*
1 & 2 || Nail Polish & Nail Sprinkles (Rockstar Nails)
(FULL SIZE: $14.99 for 0.37 oz of polish | $14.99 for 0.45 oz of sprinkles)
It's easily missable, but the product card does say that both the nail polish and the nail sprinkles are worth $14.99 each, which I think is incredible and somewhat unbelievable. I wouldn't have thought that these two bottles are worth so much. Having said that, I can't seem to find an official website that sells them. The best I could do was find them on eBay.
I think it'll be a while before I use the hot pink nail polish since it isn't an every day kind of colour. I'm including a swatch of the Rockstar polish alongside Dot by Zoya that I received in my February ipsy bag so that you could see the intensity of the Rockstar pink:
In terms of the Rockstar Sprinkles, I'm really glad that I got the multi-coloured ones - although I do imagine that it's more aesthetically pleasing to see one colour for a caviar manicure rather than a chaotic mess of colours on your nails. I'll probably try out the caviar nails trend and if that doesn't work, I'll just keep arranging the sprinkles into different shapes (like I did with Love at the end of my last Julep post).
3 || 2 x Luxurious Volume: Touchably Full Shampoo and Conditioner (John Frieda)
(Sample size: ~$1 for 2 x 8.3 mL/0.28 oz foil packets | Full size: $6.99 for 8.45 oz)
I was a little disappointed when I first saw that my box had foil packet because those are usually good for one try. Then I found that there were actually two packets, which I guess sort of does make up for the fact that you're dealing with foil packets.
I actually just got a chance to try this shampoo & conditioner. It smells wonderful and my hair feels light. I think it's because my hair is so short that I found that using the whole foil packet was actually way too much for me. I could have probably gotten two uses out of each of these packets. Nonetheless, I did use up one and I gave the second one to my mom. This shampoo claims to be really great for colour-treated hair, so I think it will work well for my mom, who has coloured her hair before.
As an added bonus, each packet comes with a $2 off coupon.
4 || Antibacterial Wipes (La Fresh)
(Sample size: $4 for 8 wipes | Full size: $19.99 for 40 wipes)
This was actually my favourite product in this box. I just find it so convenient and useful - you can just put the wipes in your purse and carry them around with you until you need them. The only thing that sucks is that there are only 8 wipes in this package. Apparently La Fresh is a recurring brand in BB5, so I am sure I will see it again in the future.
5 || It's So Big Volumizing Mascara (Elizabeth Mott)
(Sample size: ~$8.50 for 4 mL/0.14 fl oz | Full size: $19.99 for 0.33 fl oz)
Although it'll probably take a while before I start using this mascara (I'm still using the Clinique one from the fall Luxe Box), mascaras are quite welcome!
6 || $10 Gift Card (MyNameNecklace.com)
Although a $10 gift card is a really great offer, I don't think I will be purchasing a necklace anytime soon. I actually have a necklace that I wear all the time and a second one that I wear pretty often, if not everyday, as well. In any case, a personalized necklace sounds like a great idea. On mynamenecklace.com(there's a Canadian equivalent as well), you can actually type in your name into the search bar up top and you will get an image of what your personalized necklace would approximately look like. For example, this is mine:
I think it's worth browsing this site. You can select various styles and materials to customize your necklace with. It can make for an excellent gift for someone (or yourself!). If anyone would like the code, which I know I wont be using, please let me know in the comments below and we'll get in touch. The promo code is valid until March 31st, 2014.

Thoughts
I think this wasn't a bad box. It wasn't stellar, but it wasn't terrible either. In terms of value, this box had approx. $43.48 worth of products. That value is excluding the $10 gift card, which, if included, would bring the value up to roughly $53.48. This isn't bad at all for a subscription that cost me $12.
How did your February BB5 box compare? Have you tried any of the products above?
Thank you for reading! -A.~
