- - The Face Shop | Dr. Belmeur Lip Balm Duo Set Review - -

Happy Monday!

If you know me in person or if you've been reading this blog for a while, you might know that one of my favourite brands is The Face Shop. The Face Shop is owned by LG, so over the past few years you may have noticed that TFS started carrying a variety of sister brands in their stores (e.g. Fruits & Passion, Belif, VDL, and even Avon recently) in addition to The Face Shop products.

To have a name that better encompasses all these brands, The Face Shop (in the past two years or so) started changing the name of its stores over to Nature Collection. The reason I mention all of this is to try to clear up some confusion. If you ever see Nature Collection anywhere, know that it means The Face Shop (and vice versa). Hopefully this doesn't make you more confused, but please ask questions if it does! 😁

Just like they do every year, Nature Collection started launching their holiday products in stores at the beginning of this past November. Unfortunately, given the lockdown that started in Ontario on November 23, many of the holiday sets that were supposed to arrive never made it to stores.

To be honest, the overall 2020 holiday collection at Nature Collection was a bit lackluster...pretty much like the year it was launched in. However, one set did catch my eye in the online store - the Dr. Belmeur Lip Balm Duo Set!

The set includes an "ultra-moisturizing" lip balm and a coloured lip balm. The colourless lip balm can occasionally be found separately in stores while its coloured counterpart is only available in this set.

The skincare products I use are almost exclusively from the Dr. Belmeur line (because it's great for sensitive skin), but somehow I've never tried the Dr. Belmeur lip balm. I'm happy to report that it is indeed quite moisturizing! By itself, I believe it's usually sold for about $10.

The coloured lip balm is quite nice as well, but I wouldn't classify it as a lip balm. Realistically, this is basically a moisturizing lipstick. It's very pigmented even with just one swipe:

I guess if it's applied very lightly it could pass off for a coloured lip balm, but then I feel like you may lose out on the moisture. In any case, the red shade is quite flattering!

While the Dr. Belmeur Lip Balm Duo Set is normally $25 CAD, it's currently available in the Nature Collection online store for 50%. There is also free shipping with a $50 purchase. If you subscribe to their newsletter you might be able to catch their occasional free shipping promotion that applies to any order.
